Hey, just to let you all know, that while we've been having problems on DA especially due to accidental wording of our small print (permission to use for advertising, merchandise and promotion etc) Paul has now sorted it on the website so it now reads 'Copyright for all work will remain with the artist, you are only giving us permission to enter the work in to the exhibition itself and possibly for use in promotional material (flyers, posters etc). If you don't want us to use your work in promotional material, just let us know.'
It's really important that we make it clear that we are not art thieves or scam artists as we have already been accused of being. I don't think we can really be more clear than that.
We have also added that submissions can be entered anonymously if wished, as long as other guidelines are followed. I've just thought that we should also put in that the exhibition is 'non-profit' so we'll put that in now.

that's great, thanks you guys! I'm really glad these problems with the terms and conditions are sorted now, hopefully we haven't already put off too many people :P
no, actually I'm sure we'll get enough submissions anyway.
anyhow, good job and have a great weekend!
OMG the morons on Da are doing my head in. There is one person who has literally littered our page with abusive messages and as such I have reported them to the site owners, also giving the owners my contact information (including mobile number) should they need to contact us. I suggest that we focus instead on flickr and other art sites as i feel that DA is going to be pretty hard to crack with all these stupid little teenagers running around pointing fingers. I apologise to everyone for the fuck up regarding the paragraph. It has been corrected everywhere and it is now just a case of really promoting ourselves to get people to submit. I would urge everyone in the class to submit work as well. There are many images I have seen over the last three years that would be suitable.

I have also reported her to DA help desk, because she has actually said racist remarks about people from the UK all being art thieves on the homepage (people are welcome to go and check out her remarks if they wish http://secrets-exhibition.deviantart.com/)
I agree with us doing some work to submit too.
It's just all so petty and pathetic. The things we have to put up with just to get a few artworks grrr :@ But oh well. It was my fault, so i will just have to work harder to sort this out. Much love. Have a good weekend angel x
Good that it is sorted, and that you have reported her. I would also concentrate on getting submissions from elsewhere (so just ignore future remarks). Remember you all have work/proposals that you can submit so I wouldn't worry/panic about not having enough submissions.
Good thing this is sorted - I am trying to fix stuff up on livejournal and see if I can contact the owner of post-secret and lj-secret and I am also going to put this in a few other communities if I can..
