Feedback & Essay

Hi folks

Thank you for the presentations today it was a mammoth session, and I really appreciate how hard you all prepared for them (MJ sorry you had to drag yourself out of your sick-bed, hope you feel much better soon), (and Nicola thank you for the baked cookies, delicious!).
I hope participating in and listening to the other presentations today was of benefit to you all. So much has transpired over the last twelve weeks that I feel it was important for everyone to get an overview of the process and reflect on the project outcome.

I will be providing you all with written feedback on the project overall, and your individual contributions of the project management and presentations. As this is not an official university ‘report’ (none is required other than the marks), I will be emailing you all this feedback individually….they will not be passed on to the university. However, as there are so many of you do bare with me as this will take me a few days to compile! With the essay (I’m afraid), the feedback/comments are written out on an official form that then goes back to the university. As you know your final overall mark for this unit will be a combination of the project management, presentation, and essay.

So the essay!! As discussed earlier today the following is confirmation of a happy (?) compromise (as I am the only person to be reading and assessing the essays I can confirm that these are the amended guidelines that I shall be going by):

  • Ignore the essay title/question that is in the Unit Guide, and use the title:
  • ‘SECRETS: A Collaborative Project’

  • 1500 words (which allows you %10 under or over word count. As Paula correctly pointed out I won’t be counting the words, however I can instantly tell by sight if the word count is too short!)

  • The essay should critically evaluate the key advantages and disadvantages of working collaboratively by reflecting on your SECRETS project/exhibition process and outcome as a case study. Over the last twelve weeks you have done the ‘groundwork’ for this essay so this amended version of the essay will allow you to use and expand on some areas that you already prepared for your presentations (you are half way there already as it were!). Remember it is a reflection on the collaboration of the project overall…not just on your specific ‘job’.

  • Feel free to include images/illustrations

  • However in terms of the ‘technical’ aspects of the essay: structure, content, presentation and analysis, these do remain the same (I’m sure you are already very familiar with this from other projects and dissertation but do check with the unit guide to make sure)

  • Deadline is 16th January 2009

I hope this is clear, but if any of you have any questions, concerns, whatever, then do please email me as I will be more than happy to help.

Early start please!

(sorry to keep going on about this, but I currently only have 8 people's presentation slides out of a class of around 23)

It would be very helpful if we could all arrive a little early tomorrow so we can present a united and professional image. This is especially important for those adding to the Powerpoint in the morning.

Above is a screenshot of the presentation.

If you could match the theme (just a black background with white text!) that would save us time!

If you will be adding slides to the Powerpoint presentation in the morning, please make sure you are in class for 9:30. This should give us enough time (just!) to put together the presentation so we can start at 10:00.
The info/pics have to be inserted to the main show then edited to match the rest.

Thanks to everyone who has sent me their slides - much appreciated!

What was the name of the beer company?

hey guys what is the name of the beer company that was going to sponsor us?

my bit of the presentation (sponsorship)

hey guys

sorry for the no show on Mon, but things got out of hand at the office and with christmas around the corner its getting really hard and im getting swamped with people coming in- i dont think theve heard of the credit crunch!!

anyways- i dont need any pics up for sponsorship as its mainly me just pointing out what we went through how we got rejected etc.
i will put some bullet points and then come early tomorow to add them in before the presentation. ill put them up here too just in case.

anyways see ya!!!!!

Presentation powerpoint

Many thanks to the 4 people who have already sent me their slides for the presentation, they have been incorporated into the main show to make for a seamless presentation.

We asked for everyone to send their presentations to me by end of play yesterday so we wouldn't have to be rushing to get them added & edited before tomorrow. (We do have other work to be doing!)

I don't need much from you, just a couple of photos or slides to act as a visual aid to your verbal presentation.

If I haven't received your slides by 5pm today, I can't promise that I'll be able to add them to the main show - you will have to do this yourself tomorrow morning before the presentation.

We've done really well with this project and could potentially receive high marks - let's not let ourselves and each other down by presenting poorly tomorrow - send me your slides!!!

Thank you.

Presentation

Sorry i couldn't make it in the end today, i had to run off to the hospital at the last minute. Could someone please update us on how the meeting went today, and what was discussed about the presentation, and how its gonna go for the benefit of those who couldn't make it??

Much thanks

Nat

photos

hey guys,
gonna sort out the little slideshow for the presentation so if everybody could put up on either the blog or facebook any photos they have from anything involving the exhibition. meetings, photoshoots, gig, etc...
also i've been trying to go onto the flicker group, but can't see any pictures. are they actually any on there or is it just me being a little slow in the technological department...?
Sorry people
I can not make the meeting today, have let Helene know and she will step up for me. Hope it all goes well and will check back here tonight to see any feedback. Just need to know how long each group is going to talk for to fine tune my section.

My Computer Is Broken

Dear All,

Well on the way back from Helene's my computer fell over in the back of the van because it hadn't been packed properly. I didnt do the packing, I left it up to others and just provided the "muscle" (well... you know what I mean :P ) There are now two gouges in the screen which are really noticeable and needless to say I am very very very unhappy, which I think is pretty understandable. I am not trying to place blame, and I know accidents happen, but even so I am now left with a broken screen.

I leant my computer on the understanding that if it got broken it would be replaced and unfortunately the screen is now unusable and is going to need to be replaced. I have found the cheapest version available on Dell that will serve as a replacement whilst giving me the same screen size and specs.

http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=uk&l=en&s=dhs&cs=ukdhs1&sku=185319

As you can see the replacement is currently £162. I am asking that the remaining budget be used to replace my computer screen because I do not feel that it is fair for me to have to pay for a new one considering that it wasn't even my fault that it got broken.

Again I am not pointing fingers, I'm sorry if it sounds that way. I'm not sure how much is left in the budget, but I would really appreciate a response ASAP please. Thank you very much.

Lee

dismantling of exhibtion : (

so yes guys, i hate to say it, but tomorrow is the day....sob, sob! : ( ...but how funny was it along the way eh! : ) something to definatly tell the grand kids lol : D

anyways ive discussed with others, and it would be best for everyone to get to the Foundry at 4.30pm tomorrow, as it takes a while to dismantle the equipment, clean up and so on.

Sindy going to or has booked the van for hire from roughly 7.30 I THINK? maybe 6.30 im not 100% sure on that one. plus we dont want to leave it too late either. so if everyone could get their bottoms round for 4.30 that would be grand! : )

p.s how ace is it, not having the project file to do....hahaha : )

Photos from exhibition

Hi guys

I suggest we upload the photos from the exhibition to the official Flickr group.
www.flickr.com/groups/secrets-exhibition

Then from these we can make a better selection for the web site perhaps.
I only have these two photos, as the camera I had, didn't want to cooperate with me. Mark should have many photos that I took in his camera ;)

Presentation PowerPoint

Hey guys,

I think Pat would like us to make one flowing powerpoint presentation to accompany our presentation on Wednesday, so Paul and I are offering to put it together, with your help.

Each person would need to create 2-3 slides to support what they want to say, but the end of MONDAY 8th December.

We've decided on Monday because we don't really want to be putting it together last minute and have it affecting our own presentations. If you are unable to get it to us by Monday, your slides will not be included in the ppt presentation.

Preferably, send a ready-made powerpoint presentation that we can just paste in, or otherwise small images and bulleted text, with some indication of what goes where. (the first option would be easier please!)

Send them to Paul's email address: paullincolnphotography@gmail.com

I AM THAT HAPPY I THINK I WANT TO CRY RIGHT NOW!

IM THAT BLOODY SHATTERED THOUGH, THAT IM WRITING IN CAPITALS AND I CANT EVEN SLEEP!

WELL DONE GUYS!!!! : D

Exhibition

CONGRATULATIONS on your opening tonight, it was a great turnout, and feedback was very positive. You should be very proud of yourselves, WELL DONE!
So keep it going for your presentations and essay!!

Also to let you know that it will be Paula who will be second marking the presentations with me on Wednesday. It will be a very long morning to get through all the presentations, so please we have to begin at 10am sharp.

I am assuming that you are meeting as a group before Wednesday to sort out your visual material and have a quick run through? If not planned then I suggest that you do so as to familiarize yourself with the running order and have smooth ‘handovers’ during the presentations.

If anyone has any questions/concerns, whatever…email me or post on the blog, I will be more than happy to offer advice… it is not just in my interest but I want you all to do really well!

Sorry I won't be able to visit the exhibition again over the next couple of days...work and family.
Have a good weekend, and remember in your presentations to ‘perform’!

WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW! What an absolutely FANTASTIC night!! The turnout was completely above anyone's expectations, and there was soo much positive feedback. I'm on a high after all this, and i feel so proud that we've produced this great exhibition, and i think that everybody should feel the same. WELL DONE EVERYBODYYYYY!!!!! :) :) :) :) :)

Let's just hope the room airs out tonight because it smells very icky with sweat and alcohol. Hope everybody enjoyed tonight, and don't forget if you're invigilating tomorrow and Saturday!! See ya'll tomorrow for the presentations :(

Nat xx

exhibition details

yeah, i agree about the cheese grater; the video is just playing to be honest so it's not that intrusive, but no one is really getting what to do with the cheese grater so i think it should be hidden, perhaps under the bed... if anyone gets down to look they can shine their torch inside it...

also the shoebox on the bottom of the bookcase needs to be sealed and stuck down to the shelf somehow because people keep opening it (even though it's got something on it...) and seeing if there's anything in it. The big cat-thing that's on it nearly broke earlier cos someone dropped it on the floor whilst looking in the box... something is needed there to make it more interesting so i don't suggest removing it completely, but it does have to be secured properly.

any other points?

Video & cheese grater

I haven’t seen this video work but I agree with Kate…the quality of the works you exhibit will reflect on you as the curators and be detrimental to the quality of the other works. Which brings me to the cheese grater…I have seldom come across a work of such ‘quality street wrapper’ value, which prompts me to suggest that if it is to remain in the exhibition, it should be very very secret and be made virtually impossible to find. If anyone wants to try to convince me of its hidden virtues then do please try….I will try to be there for 6:30pm.
Well done so far and good luck.

video

in reply to what to do about the video piece,
I am for not showing it, I am sorry but when we were told yesterday it was chosen simply becase a video piece was needed I was not impressed.

The work on show should be there as it is quality, not stuffing to bulk out the show.

Email the artist and tell them the work can not be shown and say sorry.

Thats my thoughts on this one folks.

Also sorry can not be there for 4.30, will get there as early as I can.

setting up the exhibition

This is it, people - the opening night is already upon us! :)

We got most of the things done and decided tonight, it was a good effort, big thanks for everyone who was there. But we have just a few hours tomorrow to get everything perfectly set up, so to be able to plan our time better and get a clearer overview of what needs to be done I made a list of tasks that need completing:

blue = the stuff that's allocated and needs to be done before 16:3o)
all other things just need to be done by anyone - so if at any point someone doesn't know how to help, do anything on the list please)

* finish building the bed
- I think it was M.J. who is supposed to bring the slats (90cm please!! :D )
* fix May's image with double-sided tape onto the bedsheet
* and Georgi's image between the 2 pillows
* write secrets on to confession cards
* put 3 confession cards in the frames that are placed on the shelf
* supporting tape removed from the creepy statues that are glued on the wall
* decide where to put the ''ears'' piece (currently next to the TV)
* figure out how to solve the issue of playing the DVD's
- does the invigilator change the DVD's?; how often?; are we gonna have the other video that
we are not so happy with?
- is the TV set going to be a) turned on b) on standby c) covered with cloth d) controlled by
the invigilator?
* wardrobe needs to be sorted out
- currently empty hangers either removed or to have clothes on them
- everyone to bring a white T-shirt, so that we can fill it up more without buying any more
- Helen's photograph to be put up on the wall behind it
- Nikki or whoever promised to do it, to bring the print from the uni studio!
* Flash piece
- Paul or anyone who is good with computers to come up with a way to make it full screen
without any white borders or option to close it
- Jasmine (or was it Nikki who wanted to?) to bring earphones
* Diary sorted - are we gonna leave the prints loose in the drawer or put them in a diary?
either:
- Lee to exchange the notebook to a diary in the stationery shop
- images to be stuck in the diary
- cover the drawer with black cloth
* Parcel to be completed
- Natalie (our master of arts and crafts :P) to turn the shoebox into a parcel
- put the ''secrets'' inside
* Rug
- Was it Helen who was supposed to bring the rug to make the room look cosier
* Finish taping the electrical wires to the walls and hide extension leads etc (health and safety)
* Clean and organize the hospitality room
- mop the floor
- put up information on the wall and table
- set up the wine table
- find a place to store all our bags/coats
* Wine glasses - we decided to get our own
- Parveen to buy the disposable ones
* Wine - are we getting some boxes and smuggle it in?! who will buy it?
* ....there was probably a load more stuff, but can't remember now....

SEE YOU ALL THERE AT 16:30!
that's right, half four, not at 7 like it says on the posters ;)

- Other days, could everyone please make sure and then doublecheck the rota when they are supposed to be invigilating or helping out on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, because if you fail to turn up it is very unfair towards the others who do. So please-please be there on time :)

- On Sunday, could everyone be there at 16:30 to help dismantle the whole thing, load stuff onto the van and clean up the place. The van will be booked from 7pm so the furniture and heavy stuff needs to be packed up and ready to go then!

Audio

I know I am really showing my age here - as kindly pointed out to me by Lee - but like Lee's mother I have an 'old' tape answerphone which I am happy to lend you for the exhibition. You can record your own audio...or even the visitors could record theirs...and it can be switched on and listened to in the space by visitors. I even have a blank tape...yes tape...that old vintage stuff!

If used I would of course like it returned...although clunky I'm sure one day it will be worth more than it originally was!....oh and I bought and used it in an exhibition myself!

I will bring it in tomorrow just in case.

Hope Ikea furniture riddle was sorted.

CONGRATULATIONS

Also can I just give a huge pat on the back to every one that helped out today!! great job guys!! the room looks GREAT!!

the bed

hey guys just to let you know ive got the slats for the bed, there were two sizes 80 cm and 90 cm. I got the 90 cm, MJ will tell me if its the right size tom, if its not the right size then back i go to Ikea!!

ALSO ALSO!

EVERYONE! if you even "think" that something MAY be needed tomorrow... i dont know, like tools....equipment, furnishing then PLEASE PLEASE bring to tomorrows lesson. better to have it then not eh : )

nite!

notes from today... for tomorrow

....so i know its late and all, everyones probably in bed, but hey, ive only just stopped lol. never mind eh : P

anyways made some notes, mixtures of "thinking out loud" stuff and stuff to remember basically for tomorrow

Collect Helenes photo from the studio
Cut the last 2 prints at uni

BUY...
comments books,
diary
polish
wire tape (white)
2 white pillow covers, argos for £4.99 last time i checked!
glue spray

NEED TO BRING/ MAYBE BUY
sindy to bring in her duvet cover, to see what we think, if not suited then buy a cheap one, or Jaz possibly lend us hers.
Mj to bring his photoalbum ... see how its looks to possibly put the text secrets in.

NEED TO BRING...
sindy - 1 pillow & duvet
extension lead, the ones on the reel thingy
myself to bring a cushion for the chair
Nat, shoe boxes, as many as you can yeah : )
Karel, empty dvd
myself, pens

NEED TO DO...
place shirts on hangers
spray glue images down, in books, drawers.
mount painting on wall
double check the layout
send Karel copy of layout to produce "graphically"
write confessions in photo frames, from site and instant ones from individuals
write up the secrets from the website onto the 6*4 paper, Nat's got. to be placed either in MJ's photoalbum of in a shoe box to be possibly decorated as a package...

anything else guys...feel free too add : )

see ya'll tomorrow at 10am! bright and early sunshiiiiiiiiines!

transfer on sheet :(

Just have to say, trying to print out May's image on the sheet was a total disaster. The employees at the transfer place in Elephant and Castle where totally incompetent and time wasters. The first time I went they were having problems and didn’t really know what they were doing and told me to come back the next day as the head printer man would be there. I went today and he was even worse than the first woman. So that idea is scraped. Don’t go to that place it sucks!!!

quick reminder

for everyone who said that they can bring cleaning stuff like, buckets, mops etc. i think it were mainly the guys in halls can u please just remember to bring them. your probably best collecting them after the presentation : )

see ya'll in abit!

Money, Money, Money...du'du,...must be funny in a rich mans world

so guess, theirs been quite a few outgoings over the past week, from Wendesday to today basically, and the grand total is......"Drum roll please"

£325.37p TO BE EXACT! : )

HAPPY DAYS EH GUYS AND GURLS....WELL DONE EVERYONE! : )

so the only thing now to come out is the
money for the wine,
Torches, drapes, white tablecovers, which as far as i know Kates sorted with? so basically square kate up for that.
and possibly the odd cleaning stuff...MARY GOLDS AND ALL! : ) LOL

....and now all is grand in the world. BRNG ON TOMORROW...EH SINDY! ; ) LOL

society money

hey hey hey!
so, bad news everyone! spoke to the AJ, the president of societies and organisations at the SU, and he has to go to the council before giving us the money back. he's meeting with them tomorrow and said he will email me as soon as he knows how to go about this (heres hoping eh!). thing is, he's not sure if he can just hand the whole thing over to me or if each individual member has to pick it up personally from his office...pain, arse?
we'll definitly get the money back but just probably not in time for thursday...

Editing of fashion shoot

Hi,

Just to say i have finished editing all my 20 images from the fashion shoot. Here are examples of before and after. Who do i give it to?

Thanks

...

hey everyone. hopes ya'll weekend good!

so Tom called me yesterday about the books for the exhibition, and i think we'll just stick with A5 size books.

mainly because the photos are printed for a5 books, so just get however many u like.....10......20.... its upto you tom. because i wont be able to come along tomorrow, to go to the place and check stuff over, im just way too busy. unless if anyone else fancies taking my place?.......

personally i aint really fust on the colour scheme either, but i reckon a majority of folk would say black probably the best. so yeah black A5 book love. if u could : )

im going to be in the triangle lab/ print room tomorrow from 9am til 1. then Andrews lecture so i can give you a bunch of notes to go spending with.

also Alastair you mentioned about that transfer place in elephant und ze castle for the bedsheet. fancy doing that tomorrow? cause again i havnt got the time to pop over....well i may have but still, u fancy doing that at all since you found the place. : )

..... just a thought....

University Mailing List

One of the university staff came in to the pub today and said that she was shocked she hasnt seen the exhibition advertised through the universities internal mailing list between staff. She suggested we contact Daniel and ask him to send an email to the staff in the university on the social mailing list thing and ask them to attend, and also ask them to mention the show to their students. It might be a great way to get further attendance at the show :D :D :D

Someone should also send out an email to the digiphoto mailing list outlining the opening times and and stuff so that the first and second years will know what is going on.

:)

more from sunday shoot, they wouldn't upload before...

happy days! thought i'd add the one of the lighting kit taking a ride on the bus sunday night...

Presentations

We were discussing today critically reflecting on the project in your presentations, well think of it as this:
knowing what you now know (having collaboratively curated this exhibition), what was successful and why, and what would you do differently (and why) were you to do this project all over again!
(obviously with reference to the sections you are talking about...and the fluidity team with reference to the project as a whole).

This critical reflection is VERY important, it really is about what you have learnt from this unit, so think very hard about this. Bring your thoughts about this to the seminar next week and we will discuss!!

Jessops prints

Err, some small mishap from today:
I went to Jessops to get the prints done and nearly got a stroke when I read that the 10x8 size would be 10 quid a print.

.. I THINK NOT.

The next smaller size is going to be 55p so I will resize them and get out there again on tomorrow morning/Friday.

To the installation team

Ive got these two white frames lying about at home, just wondering if they could be of use to you. They are from tiger tiger £2.50 each so they are not expensive (mostly made out of cheap wood, cardpaper and plastic) . The size for each frame is 5x7.

Anyways let me know if you want them!

Revised Rota for Exhibition Week

Hi guys,

Hopefully the image is big enough for you all to see... this is the NEW rota for the exhibition week, after todays meeting. I've tried to make it as coherent as possible, so hopefully its not too confusing. On the days where jobs have not yet been allocated, we will do so on the day eg. the Thursday and Sunday. I know that there seems to be a lot of peeps that will be doing odd jobs etc. on the Tuesday, but if your name is on the list, please continue to be available just in case there ends up lots needing to be done. I'm sure that if we all end up standing around, then we will send people home... but its better to know that we have more people to help out, rather than none at all! Any changes of your availability, please let me know so i can update the list.

Much thanks :)

Nat
hey nat!
here's the info for the invitation to Callprint. i dunno if they'll actually come but it would probably be a nice gesture, and they might remember us, that way if we want them do give us cheap posters for our degree exhibition...gotta keep those contacts sweet!

SHEET TRANSFERS

Hey People,

If we are still interested in printing May's image on the bed sheet i found a place on the second floor in the Elephant & Castle that do tranfers to the max size of A3 transfers for £8.00.

The shop is called: SUPERTEC DESIGNS
Website: www.supertec-designs.com
email: info@supertec-designs.com
Tel: 02072526292

P.S. They also do printing on mugs. This could be another alternative way to display some work. Like for example have the mug on the bedside table. Just an idea.

Presentation Groups

Hey guys,

For all of us who were there this morning, this is just a reminder =)

To those of you who were absent, we planned groups for our individual-group presentations...

Layout idea

Hey people,

Well i came up with this layout, all will be explained in tomorows meeting.. but as you can see i have placed the computer and TV (rounded rectangle shapes) at realistic places as in a bedroom but for reasons also. The main reason is the room to be lit a little (Health & Safety 1st) to show outlines to where furniture are so that the public don't walk into anything and try and sue, lol well anythought?

T- Shirts and Transfers

Hi guys,

Well, i just spent my evening making the prototype (lol) for the t-shirts going into the wardrobe. And here's a pic of it. Its simple to do, and this was the first try... you prob cant see in the pic, (it was real quick from my cam phone), but during the peeling of the transfer paper, its stretched the image. Im sure that i can get it pretty much perfect next time round. Its a ladies XS tee by the way... (ive outgrown it lol) But i'll bring it in tomorrow and ya'll can see what you think about it. The main concern when we were re-sizing the images... (well, Lee and Niks) was that the image was not that big, and the quality wasn't great because its been scanned in, so we were worried that transferring onto a tee would make it look even worse. But lets see tomorrow what everybody thinks... There's a whole series of these by the way...

Chow chow,

Nat

muscles from brussles

well ok, ok ...i know we have "no man" from brussles but you get the general idea

so myself and Sindy are going to be doing the runs on Tuesday, if everything still goes to plan. but! going by how heavy the load was on Sunday, when it was just me and Georgi i think it would be very much appreciated if we could get a big, lean, man machine to help us wee ladies lol....dont want to breaking a nail now do we! :P

so if anyone fancies doing that on Tuesday that would be great : )

p.s i'm in no way being sexiest here, im just having a laugh... i mean how can i be sexiest against my own well....sex.... apologies for anyone whom i may offend though.... got to be careful with today's current climate lol

INSURANCE :)

Hey You Guys! (Goonies style ;)

May, Georgi and Myself, finalised the insurance application. We went for Event Insurance Services Ltd. 'One off Events' Package deal. These are the details of the package.

Equipment/ Contents - Covers your liability in respect of the accidental loss or damage to event equipment for which you are legally responsible for both at your event and in transition to or from the venue during the period of the insurance. (We specified the computer laptop and art work. NOTE! they will only pay for the reproduction costs not the value of art. So for example if a painting gets damages then they will pay for canverse and paint.)

Public Liability - This protects your legal liability to pay for compensation and claimant’s costs and expenses for accidental bodily injury, loss of or damage to property sustained by members of the public and occurring in connection with your event.

We did not feel it was important to add cancellation cover or employer’s liability as it would have cost more and not that relevant.

The insurance will cover us during the dates of the exhibition, equipment protection to the value of £2500 (as £5000 cost more). The public insurance included in the package covers us up to the value of one million, lol.

Opening times

There seems to be some confusion about the precise opening times...as far as I can remember (and I might be wrong!), the 5th-6th December opening times are 5-10pm (so the invites are correct). However the preview night is 7pm to ? Does the Foundry stay open until 12 or does it close at 11pm? This needs to be sorted for the invites which at the moment say 7-12.

Also a thought: when doing the invigilation rosta do make sure that the team always includes a male student present. Before anyone shouts at me for being sexist.....just think, it is a pub and the later it gets the worse for drink will the visitors to the exhibition be. So just as a precaution I think it would be a good policy.

Another online invitation

Here's an alternative invitation you can use online by sending it to your friends or posting it to your online profiles.

Small Prints

Are you guys still going to chuck all small prints onto one file or would you consider printing the smaller ones at Jessops, as I suggested last Wednesday?

I can do that if you want, just need the files on Wednesday.

It would save a lot of time and hassle. :)

hello all! here r a few pics from the shoot...

Unimportant Notice...

Hi guys,
just a quick note to let everyone know that the website has been updated to include the relevant information about opening times, along with the submissions page regarding closing dates and an update to the contacts page asking people to stop submitting work: not sure if they have been but I'm sure a few will still try as long as the link is up!

I would ideally like to update the website with an individual artist page featuring names, links, statements and images of the work. Professionally speaking the work should be in the same context as the exhibition we are working on but that can come after we have organised the space for the opening. If somebody on the submissions team could send me images of the artists work and personal statements as they are at the moment (not necessarily edited) I will get onto developing the relevant sections of the website.

I am chairing the meeting on Wednesday and I would appreciate it if people would post any other problems/suggestions/issues/jobs that need addressing onto the bottom of this post to help me plan for the session better.

Please keep these suggestions purely bureaucratic in nature though, I think the problems experienced by the group in recent weeks have already been
quite clearly examined in previous messages and there is no need to repeat these at the bottom of this post.

I look forward to being your chair on Wednesday...

Tom

George Washington used to sit in this chair ~ isn't that amazing?

important notice

to everyone and anyone,

we would just like to say thank you VERY much for everyone who attended todays/this evening.... currently which is still going on. photo shoot! we all know that its been a rather long day and theirs STILL a good few hours left in this job today. But despite all of that. the main point in this post is just to say how disappointed we... yes i am speaking on behalf of everyone and myself in saying that we are very disappointed to say the least... possibily even feel we've been taking the mickey out of. let me state the reasons why....

their has been a collective few within the group... you know who you are, who for their own reasons feel that this project is not "them". which in itself is fair enough BUT! what really takes the mick is the way people say that they WILL turn up but then for some mad reason just simply decide not to... and for some even madder reason don't feel that they need to contact anyone of us... despite us all knowing each other for nearly 3 years now.

and this isn't just about today, its about the whole past 10 weeks... yes! time does fly by when your constantly busy!. i don't want to be horrible because its not me, and i like to think you all know me well enough to know that, that is true.

but we are sat here now, constantly doing stuff and HELPING OTHERS OUT! most of us have been on the go since 8.30am!!! thats already 12 hours.

the main thing is that this is a group project, and fair enough Pats posted a "stern" message up earlier regarding this topic, which is really appreciate but come on guys, has it come to this that our lecturer has to feel the need to remind everyone.... seriously though, has it?
